Manager, Software Quality Assurance

As the Manager, Software Quality Assurance, you and your team will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and performing  all software testing protocols. You will be a hands-on leader who will get your hands into the technology and solutions.  You will be responsible for developing testing protocols for all products and creating variations to those protocols to be executed against customer configured systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, test and debug tests for software and applications
  • Determine the compatibility and impact of new programs on existing system tests and test plans
  • Develop expertise in and assume responsibility for one or more specific system functions
  • Formulate/define system scope and objectives
  • Devise or modify tests to verify implementation of complex problems
  • Provide guidance and training to Quality Assurance Analyst I colleagues
  • Maintain a knowledge of all aspects of the ActiveWorx applications
  • Develop and maintain software test scripts and test plans to verify systems meet the specifications outlines in data processing requests
  • Test and verify software
  • Prepares documentation for assigned projects and follows software release procedures
  • Assist in the professional growth of Quality Assurance Analyst I colleagues
  • Follows pre-established standards and guidelines as they pertain to design and development of tests and test plans
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current quality assurance tools and other technology advances
  • Delivers and maintains the highest quality of customer services to our clients
  • Continually drives efficiency of the Quality Assurance Team to reduce costs and improve quality of deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of information technology/computer science experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of client/server applications
  • Excellent project management skills
  • High level of self-motivation
  • Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
  • Leadership skills
  • Analytical and interpretive skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to oversee and manage others (employees and subcontractors)
  • Ability to juggle testing efforts for multiple projects in a fast passed environment (not only the creation of test plans, but the execution of those test plans).

  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of  Three (3) years of testing/quality assurance experience
  • Minimum of Two (2) years experience with emphasis on interpreting user requirements, and development of business application tests required.
  • Knowledge of or hands on experience with the following: Jira, Salesforce, workflows, XML, Microsoft SQL (or other database technologies), basic accounting terminology, content management software (IBM FileNet).
